Leeds United face an away trip to Millwall this Sunday for the first time since a 2-1 defeat in October 2019. Leeds are placed 15th in the table on 6 points ahead of the clash, with Bermondsey based Millwall sat in 12th on 7 points.
Speaking at the pre-game press conference this afternoon, Leeds boss Daniel Farke gave an update on the health of the squad and who will be available for Sunday afternoon’s clash. Stuart Dallas, Patrick Bamford and Junior Firpo remain sidelined, while there is a major doubt about the fitness of new signing Djed Spence. The Spurs loanee received a knock to his knee in training this week and could miss out. In terms of returnees, Liam Cooper, Ian Poveda, Dan James and Sam Byram are all available again having returned to full team training. Recent signing llia Gruev is also available and could be in line for his debut in South London.
There will be some selection issues for Farke to consider for Sunday as the squad becomes bulkier. The doubt around the fitness to Djed Spence will likely see Luke Ayling retain his place in the back four. Captain Liam Cooper is expected to start the game on the bench, as is Dan James. It is in midfield where Farke will have his biggest decision in whether to stick with Archie Gray or bring in Glen Kamara. There is concern around Kamara’s match fitness ahead of the weekend as he has not played much football yet this season. Gray has been a solid performer so far this season for Leeds and might just keep his place for this one.
