Leeds United are looking to bring in a new striker, and their eyes are on Ukrainian forward Vladyslav Vanat.
Manager Daniel Farke is keen to add more firepower to his attack, and Vanat has been making a name for himself with his goal-scoring ability.
Leeds Need a New Striker
Joel Piroe has been Leeds United’s top scorer this season, hitting the back of the net 15 times in 38 matches.
The Dutchman has been in fine form, but the club needs more options in attack. Mateo Joseph has struggled to score, managing just three goals in 36 games.
With Leeds aiming for promotion, they need another strong goal-scorer to help lead the line.
Several Premier League clubs, including West Ham, Brentford, Fulham, and Wolves, are also interested in signing Vanat.
Leeds will have to move fast if they want to secure his signature.
Who is Vladyslav Vanat?
Vanat was born in Kamianets-Podilskyi, Ukraine, and started his football journey at Dynamo Kyiv’s academy in 2015.
He worked his way up through the youth ranks and made his first-team debut in 2021 against Kolos Kovalivka.
To gain more experience, he spent a season on loan at Chornomorets Odesa before returning to Kyiv in 2022.
Since coming back to Dynamo Kyiv, Vanat has been in fantastic form. In the 2022/23 season, he scored 13 goals and provided 3 assists in 36 matches.
The following year, he stepped up even further, netting 14 times and assisting 10 in just 30 games.
His goal-scoring ability has caught the attention of many clubs, and he has also started playing for Ukraine’s national team.
Vanat’s Playing Style
Vanat is a technically skilled forward with a great eye for goal.
He has been compared to former Arsenal and Manchester United star Robin van Persie due to his finishing ability and movement.
He is quick, hardworking, and can play in multiple attacking positions, including as a No.9, a winger, or a No.10.
His ability to create chances and score goals makes him a valuable target for Leeds.
So far this season, Vanat has continued his excellent form, scoring 16 goals in 34 matches.
He also impressed on the international stage by scoring for Ukraine in their 3-1 Nations League play-off win over Belgium.
Will Leeds Make a Move?
Leeds United are currently pushing for promotion, and if they return to the Premier League, they will need to strengthen their squad.
Signing Vanat would be a big statement and give them more attacking options.
However, with other clubs also interested, Leeds will have to act quickly to secure the Ukrainian striker’s signature.
Fans will be hoping that Vanat could be the missing piece in their squad as they look to compete at the top level again.
