Leeds United are bracing themselves for a tough summer in the transfer window due to the financial restraints as a result of their failure in trying to get promoted.
Crysencio Summerville and Archie Gray caught the eye of Liverpool, Newcastle and Chelsea But it is claimed that Bundesliga kings Bayer Leverkusen are also keen on Summerville and ready to move in with a £17 million offer.
Bayer Leverkusen’s Interest
Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso is reported by SportBild to close on a deal for Summerville to improve his club ahead of an impressive campaign.
If Summerville does move on, Leeds will recoup some money to put towards their own financial gap.
Leeds United’s New Targets
Leeds United, meanwhile, will also be busy hopefully supporting the squad. He has interest in Fulham attacker Bobby Cordova-Reid, and who is due to become a free agent.
Leeds have been handed a potentially huge boost in any hopes of signing Cordova-Reid after Liverpool Echo reported that Everton were not following up on their interest in the player.
Blackburn Rovers and Celtic Transfer Moves
Elsewhere, several clubs are said to be looking at Blackburn Rovers striker Sammie Szmodics, but Celtic are supposedly in the driving seat for him at 28.
Motherwell striker Theo Blair is on a list of targets for Rovers if they decide to move on, with Bundesliga newcomers St Pauli being mentioned in a similar capacity for Blair.
As the summer spirals toward the 2020-21 season, Leeds United are working to balance the post-Covid-19 financial reality with their drive for promotion.
