According to reports, Tottenham Hotspur’s Manor Solomon is a player of interest to Leeds United.
Since Ange Postecoglou took over as manager, the Israeli winger, who has 37 caps for his national team, is desperate to leave Tottenham as he has found it difficult to get any playing time with Tottenham.
Solomon’s Time at Tottenham
25-years old Solomon joined Tottenham Hotspur after a successful spell with Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk and, for good measure, a brief but impressive loan period in the English Premiership with Fulham.
Though talented, Solomon has not been able to make an impact in the big leagues of the Premier soccer world.
The attacker has made only 6 appearances for Tottenham, with two assists registered in that time.
With Son Heung-min restored to his natural post directly on the left, Solomon is even less likely to see action.
His Spurs contract will run until June 2028, but the winger wants out this summer, four years ahead of time.
Leeds United’s Interest
Leeds United, now managed by Daniel Farke, are looking to strengthen their squad as they aim for promotion back to the Premier League.
According to reports from Israel, Solomon is wanted by Leeds.
His inclusion could provide an edge of class and expertise in attacking ability once he gets used to life at Elland Road, said a club source.
What could boost Leeds’ chances of landing Solomon is his desire to stay in England.
Much to everyone’s surprise, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that, “Leeds could be an opportunity, it’s true as he’s one of the players they’ve considered.”
We’ll see if Leeds go on with the idea and whether Solomon wants to come.
However, he is expected to leave Tottenham at the very last minute with England still being his preference.”
Competition for Solomon
Leeds will have stiff competition if they want to secure Solomon’s signature.
As well as the other Premier League clubs, Brighton and Leicester City are all reportedly keen on signing the winger for next season too.
There are Spanish and German clubs who have made known their interest in Solomon. Leeds ought to be an attractive possibility for Solomon.
The team has its sights set on a quick return to the Premier League, and the prospect of being center stage in such an endeavor can only prove tempting for him.
Leeds’ Transfer Strategy
Leeds United have been busy in the summer transfer market, building a squad capable of achieving promotion.
The club has lost winger Crysencio Summerville and urgently needs new attacking options to fill the gap.
Leeds are reported to be interested in signing Hannibal Mejbri. Manchester United’s 21-year-old midfielder is expected to leave Old Trafford this summer after failing to establish himself in the first team.
He spent last season on loan at Birmingham City and has played 41 games, could be another fine addition to Leeds’ squad.
