Leeds United gave fans a game to remember on Easter Monday.
The Whites beat Stoke City 6-0 at Elland Road, and now they are very close to going back to the Premier League.
The stadium was full of cheers, songs, and celebration as Leeds showed why they are one of the best teams in the Championship.
Piroe Scores Four in First Half
Joël Piroe was the hero of the day. He scored four goals in the first half. His first came in just six minutes.
After a mistake from Stoke, Willy Gnonto passed to Manor Solomon, who helped Piroe score. The fans were already singing “Leeds are going up!”
Just two minutes later, Piroe scored again. Jayden Bogle stole the ball and made a great pass to Piroe.
He controlled it and scored with ease. The hat-trick came in the 20th minute. Piroe was fast and smart, always in the right place.
By the 42nd minute, Piroe scored his fourth goal. He didn’t even hit it clean, but it went in anyway. That made it 5-0 before half-time.
Teamwork and Young Talent Shine
It wasn’t just Piroe who played well. Jayden Bogle was brilliant too.
He worked hard, won the ball many times, and helped create chances. He even hit the post once in the first half.
Junior Firpo scored the fourth goal after Bogle’s cross was deflected.
Leeds also gave a debut to 16-year-old Harry Gray. He came on late in the game and got a big cheer.
He is part of a famous Leeds football family, and it was a proud moment.
Willy Gnonto made it 6-0 in the second half with a strong header. Solomon gave him a great cross, and the small forward made no mistake.
Leeds Are Nearly There
Leeds are now eight points ahead of third-place Sheffield United. With only two games left, Leeds are in a great position.
They could even go up without playing again, depending on other results.
Stoke City had a bad day. They made mistakes, gave away the ball, and never really looked dangerous.
Their goalkeeper, Viktor Johansson, made some good saves, but it wasn’t enough.
Leeds fans are already dreaming about the Premier League.
They sang and danced at Elland Road all afternoon. After this big win, it looks like their dream is about to come true.
