Leeds United secured a 2-0 victory against Cardiff City in a Championship clash, getting back on track after last week’s defeat to Burnley.
The game saw Leeds dominate for much of the match, with Largie Ramazani scoring his debut goal and Joel Piroe sealing the win later on.
Ramazani Shines on His Debut
Ramazani made an impressive full debut for Leeds, opening the scoring after Joel Bagan was sent off for Cardiff in the 23rd minute.
The young forward dribbled past the Cardiff defence and slotted a calm finish into the bottom corner, making a strong case for regular first-team action.
Although Leeds had the upper hand after the red card, their second-half performance was less impressive.
They missed a penalty, but Piroe came off the bench to score late on, ensuring Leeds left with all three points.
Bagan’s Red Card Changes the Game
Cardiff’s Joel Bagan was shown a red card in the first half after bringing down Leeds’ winger Willy Gnonto.
Referee Josh Smith had no hesitation in sending Bagan off for a last-man foul.
The red card turned the tide of the game, giving Leeds more control and limiting Cardiff’s ability to mount any meaningful attacks.
Leeds Miss Penalty But Seal the Win
Pascal Struijk had the chance to put the game beyond Cardiff’s reach from the penalty spot, but his effort was saved by Cardiff goalkeeper Jak Alnwick.
Leeds continued to press forward, and Piroe made the most of a counter-attack to score a second goal late in the game, ensuring Leeds held on to their unbeaten away record.
Cardiff City’s manager, Erol Bulut, lamented the red card and how it shifted the balance, but praised his team for fighting hard with 10 men.
Leeds now look ahead to their next fixture with confidence, hoping to build on this victory.
