Transfer news: Leeds United are reportedly aiming to sign Fulham star Bobby Decordova-Reid this summer, as per TEAMtalk.
After joining the Cottagers a few years ago, the 31-year-old has established himself as a key player in Marco Silva’s starting eleven, scoring seven goals and registering four assists in 41 appearances in all competitions last term.
According to the report by TEAMtalk, with Decordova-Reid’s current contract set to expire at the end of this month, Fulham offered him a new deal to stay at Craven Cottage but the forward has decided not to sign it.
So, the report says that the Jamaican is expected to leave Fulham this summer with Leeds looking to sign him for free amid their financial difficulties.
It has also been reported that Wilfried Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville are likely to leave after Leeds fail to gain the promotion, while Jaidon Anthony has already returned to Bournemouth after his loan spell so the Peacocks are keen on signing a new winger.
Transfer news: Decordova-Reid to Leeds
However, TEAMtalk states that purchasing Decordova-Reid won’t be straightforward for Leeds as Everton are also plotting a swoop for him to reinforce their squad.
The experienced campaigner is a versatile forward as he can play in either flank but can also provide support to the right-back position if needed. He is a hard-working winger and has already showcased his qualities in the Premier League and Championship over the last few years.
So, he would be a very good acquisition for Leeds if they purchase him. However, should Everton eventually formalise their interest in signing Decordova-Reid then it would be difficult for the Yorkshire club to get this deal done as he would ideally want to remain in the Premier League.
Therefore, Leeds will have to work at their level best to lure the forward to Elland Road. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether Daniel Farke’s side can eventually manage to acquire his service should they make a concrete approach in the upcoming transfer window.
