Leeds United are getting ready for a big Championship match against Sunderland on Monday night, but a club legend has warned them to be careful.
Sunderland icon Gary Bennett has said that his former team has improved a lot and could give Leeds a tough time at Elland Road.

Leeds Flying High but Sunderland a Big Threat
Leeds have been in great form recently. They smashed Watford 4-0 in their last match and have been solid at the back, keeping clean sheets in their last five league games.
Daniel Farke’s team has also been unstoppable at home, winning 12 matches and picking up 36 points at Elland Road this season.
But Sunderland are not a team to be taken lightly. They also won their last game, beating Luton Town, and have been improving as the season goes on.
When Leeds and Sunderland met earlier in October, the match ended in a 2-2 draw. But according to Bennett, Sunderland are a much stronger team now.
Gary Bennett’s Big Warning
Speaking to BBC Radio Newcastle, Bennett said: “Leeds are the best team we’ve seen at the Stadium of Light. They’re the best team we’ve played against, but I think we’ve improved.”
He added, “We are a better team now than when we played them before. We have more understanding, and we are more dangerous in attack. If you look at our starting eleven, it has changed a little bit, but we are stronger.”
Sunderland have had a mixed record in recent weeks, winning half of their last ten matches.
But they are still sitting strong in the top four of the Championship table and are not in danger of dropping too far down.
They are 14 points ahead of fifth-placed Blackburn Rovers and still have a good chance of moving up.
Tight Race at the Top
The Championship table is very close right now. Leeds are pushing for promotion, but if they drop points, Sheffield United could go above them with a win against Luton.
Sunderland are also only three points behind Sheffield, so every game is crucial.
Monday’s match will be a huge test for Leeds. Farke’s team have been brilliant at home, but Sunderland are coming in confident and determined.
With both teams needing the points, this match could be one of the most exciting games of the season.
Will Leeds keep their strong form and take another step towards promotion, or will Sunderland prove Gary Bennett right and cause a big upset? The battle at Elland Road is set to be a thriller.
