Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has dropped a suggestion that the club is preparing to sign a new player, and according to rumors, the player to be signed is experienced midfielder Joshua Guilavogui on a free transfer.
Leeds are in desperate search of fresh legs especially considering the recent injuries that they received in the likes of Ethan Ampadu, Ilia Gruev.

Farke was quoted to have said he wanted to secure a player who could deputize both in midfield and center-back positions.

In his pre-match interview before Leeds’ 2-0 victory against Sheffield United, Farke stated that the new player needed to be prepared for bench warming once the regular starters are back into the side, but should also impart leadership qualities onto the rest of the squad.

The speculations of signing of Joshua Guilavogui was boosted after the 34-year-old was seen at Leeds’ Elland Road stadium during the match against Sheffield United.
Guilavogui, a former Atletico Madrid and Wolfsburg player, fits the profile of the kind of signing Farke described.
Having played in some of Europe’s most elite leagues, he could bring the quality and seniority required by Leeds as they push for promotion in the Championship.
What Guilavogui Brings to Leeds
Even though Guilavogui has not featured for his side since joining from Mainz in July but he has the experience of playing for clubs such as Atletico Madrid and Wolfsburg which is invaluable.
He has featured most of his career as a defensive midfielder but can equally perform a center-back role that makes him a handy addition to Farke’s squad. Standing just shy of 6ft2in, his physical presence is an added bonus.
Leeds is keen on promotion to the Premier League and having Guilavogui may offer the club the extra push to clinch a place in the Championship season.
Although Guilavogui is a Free Agent, his experience as well as leadership prowess will help Leeds enhance their position in the league.
