Joel Piroe was told to back himself by Leeds United fans if he wants to be a success at Elland Road.
Some important advice from former player and football expert Don Goodman for Piroe. He says that Piroe will clearly have to prove he is ready to fight for his place in the team.
Goodman thinks Leeds could be the perfect club for Piroe , a big club with a strong history. “He has to fight and play so well that he starts week in, week out,” Goodman said.
He conveyed that Piroe should aim to work hard and become the best version of himself. This is entirely missing the point if Piroe thinks he can’t be a first-choice starter.
The Pressure to Perform
Piroe put together a solid season last year but he had a hard time sticking out in such a talented squad.
The Elland Road faithful are still yet to see the best of him. While Goodman pointed out Piroe is yet to realize his peak.
“If I was Piroe, I’d be wanting to show more of myself on a regular basis,” he said.
Piroe has to be more clinical when the opportunities do arise. And Leeds manager Daniel Farke is hoping for a breakthrough.
Piroe scored against Hull recently, proving when given a chance he can find the net.
Looking Ahead
Leeds United play Cardiff City today. This might be the game where Piroe turns things around.
Although, if he can continue to catch the eye in this match then it could be a sign that he is making himself un-droppable.
He just needs to continue working hard and make it so Farke is forced to start him.
Meanwhile, Goodman has also offered punditry on a Leeds United player in Willy Gnonto and where his future may lie.
Leeds supporters will be keeping an eye on that to see how Piroe does and whether he can kick-on when called upon.
