Leeds United striker Joe Gelhardt is about to leave Elland Road on loan, and a transfer to Hull City is expected to be completed in the near future. In fact, Manager Daniel Farke confirmed Gelhardt to be negotiating with various clubs, moving forward with the negotiations to close the transfers.
Having not played more than two games for Leeds this season, Joel Piroe, Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford have seen much more playtime when compared to Gelhardt. He has only started one game for Leeds this campaign, in the Carabao Cup defeat to Middlesbrough.
Hull City are seemingly advancing in their pursuit of Gelhardt, who happens to be looking for a bigger footballing role, and with that being said, Gelhardt’s absence in the FA cup that Leeds won on Saturday indicates that a transfer was in line.
On the other hand, Gelhardt aims to gain valuable experience and boost his confidence after limited opportunities under Farke.
Charlie Crew Set to Follow Gelhardt on Loan

Alongside Gelhardt’s transfer, Leeds United are anticipated to allow another player to leave on loan this January. Welsh midfielder Charlie Crew is also set to leave, as competition for places has made it difficult for him to break into the senior squad.
Crew, who has been a part of the first team squad for quite a while but has only made one senior appearance, has dropped in ranking due to the return of Ilia Gruev.
Crew’s potential has been praised by his teammate Ethan Ampadu, who believes the youngster has a bright future ahead. However, the 19-year-old needs more regular minutes to develop his game fully. Like Gelhardt, Crew is set to move on loan to a club where he can gain first-team experience and continue his growth as a player.
These loan moves show Leeds’ commitment to helping their young talents progress while also managing squad depth effectively.
