Leeds United’s manager, Daniel Farke, is under huge scrutiny from fans after a poor start to the Championship season.
Following the disappointment of missing out on promotion last year, Farke’s team is expected to make a strong push for a return to the Premier League.
However, after their first five games, they’ve only secured eight points and recently suffered a 1-0 defeat to Burnley.
A Tough Summer for Farke
It was also a difficult summer in the transfer market for Farke, with Crysencio Summerville and Archie Gray among those to be sold.
Nevertheless, there were still high hopes the club could recover from last season’s heartbreak, when they lost to Southampton in the playoffs final at Wembley.
Leeds have struggled for consistency this season, with their first defeat coming against a strong Burnley side at Elland Road.
Pressure Mounts for Promotion
The Leeds United hierarchy has been clear about the club’s intentions to seek promotion.
Whites were relegated last season but are tipped to return to the Premier League before the 2025-26 campaign.
Nonetheless, Farke’s side are in a familiar place. They also started slow last season, but managed to recover, only to fall short in the playoffs.
Leeds, who are eighth in the table, must start climbing up from here.
Club are heading into a crucial clash with Cardiff City in the league next fixture, after already having exited the League Cup.
That result could be crucial as Farke tries to relieve a little pressure and get the promotion push for Leeds back on track.
