Leeds United could be set to bring in a familiar face for Daniel Farke as the January transfer window offers the chance to strengthen their squad.
Reports suggest that Milot Rashica, a player Farke previously managed at Norwich, could be on Leeds’ radar, with the winger now catching attention at Besiktas.
Farke’s Old Favourite Back in the Spotlight
Daniel Farke signed Rashica for Norwich back in 2021, spending £9.4m to bring the Kosovo international to England.
Although Farke was soon dismissed, Rashica managed five goal contributions in a struggling Norwich team that season.
Since then, the versatile attacker has moved to Turkey, joining Besiktas in 2023.
According to reports from Turkish outlet Fotospor, Besiktas are reluctant to let Rashica leave but would consider offers if the price is right.
Leeds have already shown interest, with claims they made a £6m bid earlier this month, though it was rejected.
With English clubs now showing more interest, Leeds could have competition for the talented winger’s signature.
Rashica Could Fill Multiple Roles for Leeds
While Rashica primarily plays as a winger, his adaptability could be a major asset for Leeds.
He has the pace and vision to operate as a striker or even as a creative no.10, two positions Leeds are looking to strengthen this window.
Leeds’ current attack options include Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt, both of whom are reportedly considering moves away.
Brenden Aaronson has also been relied upon heavily, starting 24 consecutive games this season.
Bringing in Rashica could ease the workload and give Farke’s side a more dynamic attacking edge.
Unfinished Business Under Farke?
Farke once praised Rashica as an “excellent” player, and it’s clear that the two share a connection from their time at Norwich.
Rashica might feel he has unfinished business under Farke, particularly after their time together was cut short.
A move to Elland Road could offer the 26-year-old the perfect chance to reignite his career in England while helping Leeds push for Premier League promotion.
With Leeds sitting at the top of the Championship table, adding a player like Rashica could give them the boost they need to stay ahead of their rivals.
As the transfer window progresses, Leeds fans will be watching closely to see if Farke can secure this exciting addition to the squad.
