Wilfried Gnonto, the young forward of Leeds United, has been told that he has to be more decisive in front of the goal in order to realize his ambition of playing in the Premier League.
The 21-year-old has been visibly promising but has not been able to catch the eye with enough goals this season in a rather competitive league.
Gnonto’s Premier League Ambitions
Gnonto was reportedly set to join Everton in the summer transfer window but that did not happen because Leeds United turned down the transfer request.
It has, however emerged, preceded a shift of ownership at Everton, that there are still rumors he would join Everton.
Despite the transfer rumor surrounding him, Gnonto is confident that he will assist Leeds to secure a promotion.
Nonetheless, Leeds are in the race for promotion, but if Leeds hopes to make it, he has to score more goals.
A Mixed Season for Gnonto
Last season, Gnonto managed to score a total of nine goals, eight of which came in the Championship and one in the FA Cup.
So far in this season, he has registered four league goals to his name but interestingly all four are in matches where Leeds scored at least three goals.
Though some creativity and skill has been shown by Gnonto’s performances, but he’s not yet guaranteed a starting spot in Daniel Farke’s team.
His lack of consistency in front of goal has been highlighted as an area for improvement.

While praising his talents, former professional footballer and Football League Paper columnist Adam Virgo emphasized the need for Polish professional footballer Wilfried Gnonto to be able to score goals more consistently.
“Every time I see him, he seems to do something, he seems to be creative,” Virgo said. “The guy has got caps for Italy, so everybody knows that he’s a top-class player. The only thing holding him back is that he never seems to hit a consistent streak of goal-scoring. Rectify that, and he’s a Premier League player without a doubt.”

For Gnonto, the path to Premier League success seems clear, improve his goal-scoring. With his skillset and international experience, there’s no doubt about his potential.
If he can find consistency, he could not only help Leeds achieve promotion but also secure his dream of playing in the top flight.
