Luca Thomas, a promising striker for Leeds United, has extended his loan term at York City until January.
The attacking 20-year-old moved to the National League side in October and has done well within the limited time he spent there.
Leeds United confirmed the duration of the extension via their internet site and allowed Thomas to continue his learning process.
Strong Start at York City
Thomas transferred to York City to get regular first-team action having already appeared five times across all competitions and scoring once. This includes four of these in league fixtures.
Thomas has adapted well into the team with the help of coach Adam Hinshelwood as York aims to get promoted into the Football League.
York City presently holds the 2nd position, only two points behind Forest Green Rovers.
As the players head into their next match with Yeovil Town, the team looks to retain their position while hoping to take the first position.
Leeds United’s Plans for Thomas
Luca Thomas has yet to make his debut for Leeds United’s senior team.
However, his performances at York City might boost his chances of breaking into Daniel Farke’s squad in the future.
Leeds United will need to decide what’s next for Thomas when his loan expires in January.
Thomas joined Leeds in 2021 after rising through Manchester City’s academy, where he played at various youth levels.
Since then, he has become a key player for Leeds’ U21 side, scoring 12 goals in 30 matches.
This loan stint at York provides him with the opportunity to prove his readiness for senior-level football.
