Leeds United delivered an impressive 4-0 win over Oxford United at Elland Road. Here’s how the players rated after their dominant performance.
Brenden Aaronson – 9
Aaronson was everywhere in the second half. He assisted Bogle’s second goal with a brilliant cutback and then scored himself to seal the victory. His contribution was key to Leeds’ success.
Dan James – 8
James opened the scoring early in the game and was a constant threat throughout the first half. His energy and pace caused Oxford problems, although his impact waned in the second half.
Jayden Bogle – 8
Bogle was solid at both ends of the pitch. He combined well with Aaronson for the second goal and finished with confidence. He also delivered a strong defensive performance.
Ao Tanaka – 8
Tanaka was excellent in midfield, winning the ball back regularly and starting attacks. His control of the game helped Leeds dominate possession and stifle Oxford’s efforts.
Joe Rodon – 7
Rodon had a quiet afternoon but was solid when called upon. His excellent defending and involvement in the build-up helped Leeds control the game.
Ethan Ampadu – 7
Ampadu slotted back into the starting lineup with ease, making timely challenges and controlling the midfield. His experience added stability to Leeds’ play.
Sam Byram – 6
Byram didn’t have a standout game, both defensively and offensively. He was relatively quiet and didn’t contribute as much to the attack.
Manor Solomon – 8
Solomon set up James for the opener and nearly repeated his assist in the second half. He also scored, cementing Leeds’ lead and ensuring the game was well out of Oxford’s reach.
Joe Rothwell – 6
Rothwell had a standard performance, but he wasn’t as dominant as usual. He contributed when needed but didn’t stand out in the midfield.
Joel Piroe – 5
Piroe had a quiet game and failed to impress against a weak Oxford side. Although he provided an assist for the fourth goal, his performance left much to be desired.
Substitutes:
- Isaac Schmidt (5) – Did not make a significant impact after coming on.
- Wilfried Gnonto (5) – Also had little influence in his brief time on the pitch.
- Largie Ramazani (5) – Like the others, Ramazani struggled to make a lasting impact.
- Mateo Joseph (5) – Not much to show from his short cameo.
- Joshua Guilavogui (N/A) – Did not feature enough to be rated.
Leeds United will be happy with the three points, but manager Daniel Farke will want to see more consistency as they continue their promotion push.
