Leeds United could be handed a third opportunity to sign Brentford’s Fabio Carvalho after a public plea from his father, asking the player to leave the club.
The 22-year-old midfielder had previously rejected a move to Elland Road twice, first after a failed loan attempt from Liverpool and then again in the summer when Brentford sealed a £27.5million deal to secure him from Liverpool.
Leeds United May Not Get Another Chance
Despite the past setbacks, Leeds should consider one last attempt to sign Carvalho.
The midfielder has struggled for game time at Brentford, making only two Premier League starts since his transfer.
His father’s recent comment, urging him to leave Brentford, shows that Carvalho might not be satisfied with his current situation.
This could present Leeds with an opportunity to bring him to Elland Road, where he could become a key player for Daniel Farke’s promotion push.
Carvalho Could Strengthen Leeds’ Attack
With Leeds looking to strengthen their forward line, Carvalho is seen as a more ideal option than Manchester City’s James McAtee, who is also being linked with a loan move.
Carvalho’s experience in the Championship with Hull City last season, where he impressed with nine goals and 2 assists in 20 games, makes him a top candidate.
His ability to play behind the striker would provide much-needed depth to Leeds’ attack, offering competition to the likes of Dan James and Wilfried Gnonto.
Additionally, Carvalho’s versatility could help relieve Brenden Aaronson, who currently lacks a capable backup in Leeds’ midfield.
Leeds should not miss this golden opportunity to sign a player they have long coveted, and with Carvalho’s struggles at Brentford, Kinnear may finally be able to secure this long-term target.
