Leeds United played out an enthralling 3-3 draw with Portsmouth at Elland Road in their first game of the Championship season.
A game that so far had provided great entertainment, ended in frustration for Leeds fans and also showed the need to strengthen further forward.
Crysencio Summerville’s Departure Leaves a Gap
Without Crysencio Summerville, Leeds were effective in finding a genuine alternative. As to new blood, they still have been trying and for the most part coming up empty.
They had been targeting Jonathan Rowe and we haven’t seen that deal get it through yet.
It has placed Leeds in a rather delicate position when they are seeking to bolster their attacking force.
Daniel Jebbison: A New Target for Leeds?
There’s now fresh news about a potential new striker for Leeds.
Bournemouth new boy Daniel Jebbison could be on the move already, having just left Sheffield United.
Jebbison only signed for Bournemouth this week, but he is set to go out on loan this summer.
Sky Sports journalist Keith Downie has reported that Sunderland seems interested in him, but they haven’t made a formal move yet.
This could be a big opportunity for Leeds to swoop in and add the 21-year-old striker to their squad.
Jebbison has received glowing reviews and Leeds are plotting a move for the rising star.
That will be a good signing for the club as we really need some attacking power.
Should Leeds Go for Tom Cannon Instead?
Jebbison is certainly an option, but another name that should be on the radar of Leeds appears to be Tom Cannon.
Cannon, currently with Leicester City, might be available for a loan move this summer.
The ex-Everton forward enjoyed a fine spell with Preston North End in the Championship season but has not figured at all for Enzo Maresca’s side.
Cannon is a player with plenty of promise and he would be a good fit in Leeds’ system under Daniel Farke.
His style of play is quite similar to Teemu Pukki, who did exceptionally well under Farke in the past.
Bringing Cannon in could give Leeds the attacking boost they need to make a strong push in the Championship.
Leeds United are in a crucial position as they look to build a squad capable of competing at the top of the Championship.
With the transfer window still open, they have the chance to bring in the right players to strengthen their attack.
Whether they go for Daniel Jebbison or Tom Cannon, it’s clear that Leeds needs to act fast to secure the talent that will help them achieve their goals this season.
Fans will be eagerly watching to see who Leeds signs next, as every new addition could make a big difference in their campaign.
