Leeds United could reportedly make ‘thrilling’ signings over the coming days to bolster the squad, as per the former midfielder David Norris.
The Whites have reportedly suffered a big financial blow after failing to gain promotion last term. So, they have been busy in this transfer window to balance the books by selling some stars.
Archie Gray has been sold to Tottenham Hotspur, while Glen Kamara is set to join Stade Rennais. In addition, Wilfried Gnonto has heavily been linked with a move away from the club, while Crysencio Summerville could also leave before the end of this window.
The Peacocks haven’t made many new signings so far as their only notable arrival is Joe Rothwell from AFC Bournemouth on a season-long loan deal. Additionally, Joe Rodon has also joined the club permanently after enjoying a promising loan stint last term.
Now, speaking on MOT Leeds News, Morris has said that Rothwell might not be the most exciting signing for the Yorkshire club but he could turn out to be a shrewd acquisition for Leeds.
Leeds to make new additions over the coming days
The ex-Whites also states that it’s good that his former club are making new additions amid these many departures and he thinks there will be ‘thrilling’ signings to come over the coming weeks.
Norris said:
“I don’t think fans will initially be buzzing with it, so to speak, just because they will naturally want players who will get bums off seats, but he has pedigree and could be a good signing for them.
“It’s good they’re bringing players in as there have been so many players linked away from the club. Whilst there may be more thrilling ones to come, he knows the level and can be a decent signing.”
After failing to gain the promotion last term, Daniel Farke’s side will be aiming to achieve that next season. But, in order to do that they will have to reinforce the squad in this transfer window, especially given they are forced to sell several of their stars to comply with the FFP rules.
Therefore, it is going to be interesting to see how this summer transfer window unfolds for the Yorkshire club over the coming weeks.
