Red Bull Salzburg has once again turned attention towards Maximilian Wöber. The defenders are considered to be in problem at the moment with Samson Baidoo and Kamil Piatkowski not having the best of times this season.
Wöber left Salzburgh over to Leeds United in 2023, and loaned to Borussia Mönchengladbach last season and is now looking to come back to Leed. He has only played a total of 100 minutes this season as he suffered an injury earlier on.
He is tied down to Leeds until 2027 but it looks like Salzburg are determined to bring him back. They seem to have set aside a hefty figure to secure the player.
Wöber’s Interest Adds Momentum to Transfer
It is reported that the 26-year-old defender is possibly considering a return to his former club, Salzburg, where he previously had a good time.
It is highly likely that his presence will enhance Salzburg’s defense as well as the Austrian international knows how to instill steadfastness at the back line. Salzburger Nachrichten sources state that after trying unsuccessfully last summer, the clubs now seem to be able to strike a deal, which might take place in January.
For Leeds, the answer to the question whether they will allow Wöber to leave may depend on the negotiations with Salzburg, and this makes it a very important transfer window for the two clubs.
