Leeds United have reportedly registered their interest in signing AFC Bournemouth star Daniel Jebbison this summer, as per the transfer journalist Graeme Bailey.
The Whites lack qualities in the centre-forward position as Patrick Bamford has been finding it difficult to perform at his best in recent years.
They also have Joel Piroe but he showcased last season that he isn’t the most prolific goal-scorer, while Joe Gelhardt hasn’t been able to establish himself as a regular starter for the club.
Therefore, purchasing a new centre-forward would be the right decision and Jebbison could be an excellent acquisition with a view to the long-term future if they acquire his service.
Reporting on HITC, Bailey has reported that Jebbison recently joined Bournemouth from Sheffield United but the Cherries think the 21-year-old isn’t ready to play in the Premier League so he should go out and play in the Championship to develop his career.
Leeds want to sign Jebbison
So, it is likely that Bournemouth would be open to letting him leave on loan rather than permanent sale.
The journalist further claims that Leeds have registered their interest in signing him and could look to accelerate their efforts to lure him to Elland Road this summer.
However, Bailey says that Jebbison has been attracting a lot of interest with Sunderland among those to have registered their interest. Therefore, the Yorkshire club will have to beat their rivals in this race to get any potential deal done for him.
Leeds have encountered a big financial blow having failed to gain promotion last term. So, it appears they are aiming to sign players on loan deals to strengthen their squad.
After signing Joe Rothwell from Bournemouth on a loan deal, the Peacocks are now seemingly planning to go back to the Cherries to sign yet another of their men, Jebbison, on loan.
The 21-year-old, standing at 6ft 3in tall, is strong and good in the air. Therefore, he could be a good signing for Leeds to bolster the attack if they purchase him.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the Elland Road outfit eventually opt to make a concrete approach to acquire his service in this transfer window.
