On the last day of the transfer window, Leeds United finally made their move, bringing Ao Tanaka and Isaac Schmidt into their squad.
However, manager Daniel Farke’s request for a new No. 10 was still unfulfilled.
Despite that two of his notes were broadly followed with the signing of Manor Solomon and bringing in Largie Ramazani, the squad still looks like it could use some extra depth, especially in defense.
Michael Lang Still on Leeds’ Radar
One name Leeds looked at in the summer is Michael Lang, a 33-year-old Swiss defender who remains without a club after leaving Basel.
Lang is a versatile defender with over 500 senior appearances who could prove a smart signing for Leeds.
He can play anywhere along the back line, providing crucial cover with players like Pascal Struijk and Junior Firpo often battling injuries.
Why Lang Could Be a Perfect Fit
His knowledge and skill to play anywhere from right-back through left encompasses a much wider universe of choices.
Obviously Leeds’ central defenders urgently need cover.
Max Wober represents the only senior prospect that the club could call upon, bringing in Lang could be just what Leeds need to solidify their defence.
The free agent market still offers an opportunity for Leeds to make a move, and the fact that Lang remains unattached just might provide a perfect opportunity for them to supplement without transfer fees.
Diehard Leeds supporters are waiting with bated breath for the club to make one more acquisition, with Lang filling an important role possibly for Farke’s team in their Championship campaign.
