Leeds United have reached an agreement for goalkeeper Kristoffer Klaesson to join Polish club Rakow Czestochowa.
Norwegian outlet Nettavisen says Klaesson will travel to Poland for talks over personal terms and a medical. If all goes well, he could be presented as a Rakow player on Sunday 7 July.
Leeds Transfer Window Plans
Leeds United have been restructuring their squad over the last few months as they bid for a return to the Premier League.
There has already been plenty of movement at the club this summer, with big departures including £40 million-rated Archie Gray and acquisitions like Joe Rodon for a reported fee of £10 million.
Leeds are desperate to find the money from elsewhere, whether that be through player sales or new loans.
Klaesson, who did not make the starting XI for City, made just seven appearances in total and it will bring more income for Canaries head coach Daniel Farke to continue his recruitment drive.
That’s all part of a plan to make sure that Leeds have the strength-in-depth and quality to be able compete for promotion.
Potential Player Departures
Leeds United are contemplating on cashing in some other players as well. Diego Llorente, for instance, is being tipped to return permanently with Betis said to be offering just £3.3 million.
The writing was on the wall for Llorente after he spent 18 months away from Elland Road, and it looks like Leeds are moving to cut their squad size down further and focus only on those who they believe can help realize a long-term vision of success.
Focus on Key Players
Leeds need to keep hold of players like Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter in order to realize their promotion ambitions, though.
The club is insistent on keeping hold of these talents despite interest from elsewhere.
The need to have them available if we are going to be serious in our attempt for promotion.
Manager’s Vision
Head coach Daniel Farke has been tasked with firing Leeds United back into the Premier League.
His philosophy of recruitment is to have a good, competitive team. With funds from player sales, including that of Klaesson will allow Farke to look at areas he needs strengthening.
The primary goal is obvious to compile a squad that can earn promotion and endure life in the first division.
Leeds United are the most active club in this summer transfer window as they try to push for Premier League return One step in making that possible is to fund additions to the squad by selling Kristoffer Klaesson.
