Tottenham Hotspur praised Leeds United for tactical transfers with Joe Rodon deal, Leeds secured the services of Rodon in spite of losing wonderkid Archie Gray to Spurs.
The 30-year-old played 50 times for Leeds last season, so they got a great deal! In effect then, the deal saw Leeds gain £25m and Wilson for little more than Gray.
Speaking to MOT Leeds News, David Norris pointed out how important this move is and went on to say “Rodon was excellent last season – Premier League clubs were looking at him. For Leeds, it’s an intelligent piece of business.”
Rodon’s Return a Big Boost
Rodon’s desire to return to Leeds, even amidst interest from top clubs, speaks volumes about his connection with the team.
Norris noted, “It looks great on Leeds that Rodon wanted to come back permanently.”
The 26-year-old was a key player for manager Daniel Farke, helping Leeds achieve a strong defensive record in the Championship, second only to Leicester City.
Rodon even signed the paperwork from the USA, showing his eagerness to finalize the move.
Looking Ahead
It is a key part of the recruitment puzzle, as Farke looks to keep his squad together and focused on bouncing back up at their first available opportunity.
The arrival of Rodon strengthens Leeds’ defensive options and makes them serious contenders heading into the new season.
