Max Dean, who was a striker for Leeds United and sold in 2023, is doing great at Gent, a Belgian club.
Dean has netted 10 goals in this season already including a penalty kick in Sunday’s 2-2 draw against Westerlo, which is 3 goals more than Leeds’ leading goalscorer Joel Piroe.
It has been a remarkable journey for Dean from MK Dons to Gent.
He was bought by the Belgian team for £2 million and since then has participated in European tournaments and settled well as a dependable goal scorer.
Leeds Struggling with Goal-Scoring Options
At the same time, Leeds United have been struggling with with inconsistency in attack. Joel Piroe, a forward Daniel Farke regards as the best in the Championship , has disappointed.
Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford have also been unreliable in crucial stages and for these reasons Leeds remain in pursuit of solutions.
They may have to go back in the transfer window in January and find a center forward who is able to ensure scoring goals.
Dean’s accomplishment is a harsh reminder for Leeds to what they probably lost in their chase for promotion.
