Leeds United have had a good transfer window, but its not completely over yet. Already, four fresh faces have been added to the ranks at Elland Road.
Judging by these signings those additions should bode well for the upcoming season. Joe Rodon, who spent last season out on loan is a recognizable face.
Cairns will play a major role off the pitch. The free signing of Joe Rothwell will offer a new dynamic in midfield with his ability to carry the ball.
Jayden Bogle is set to be one of the best attacking right-backs in the division.
Farke’s Ambitions for More Signings
Despite these promising additions, manager Daniel Farke is keen on bringing in three more players.
There is not as pressing need for new additions this year but the likes of Crysencio Summerville, Archie Gray and Glen Kamara have left holes.
Last season, Summerville was particularly effective with 31 goal involvements and his output will be very difficult to replace.
Darragh MacAnthony’s Warning
Leeds United have been warned by Peterborough chairman Darragh MacAnthony.
Talking on the ‘Hard Truth Podcast,’ he stated: “You should just get your transfers done early, because we all remember last August with panic buys.
Leeds need to sign players, he said. They misplaced a lot of their attacking firepower.
Leeds are the biggest club in that league. I think they did this last year, they sell and then bring in late. They need to bring in some players, definitely.”
Targeted Positions and Players
If they want to do that, Leeds are in the market for players at full-back, central midfielder and winger.
They want to strengthen at left-back and Wolvers’ Hugo Bueno is an option, but that move may be difficult.
And Leeds saw an approach to FC Koln for Dejan Ljubicic in central midfield rebuffed. However, it appears increasingly unlikely a second offer will be forthcoming.
Leeds eye Rowe to replace Summerville. Leeds are in talks with Norwich City for Jonathan Rowe as they look to bring a winger succession of the out-bound Crysencio Summerville.
Leeds United have made good progress in the transfer window but must act quickly to secure additional reinforcements.
The new signings need to integrate well to avoid a slow start to the season. With the right additions, Leeds can look forward to a strong campaign.
The next few weeks will be crucial for Farke and his team as they finalize their squad for the new season.
