If everything goes according to the plan, Leeds United fans might see their academy graduate return back to the club, Kalvin Phillips, in 2025.
This is due to the fact that The Whites are attempting to obtain promotion into the Premier League for this year, which could mean Phillips gets brought back during that time.
Phillips has had his challenges since he moved from Leeds to Manchester City in 2022 especially with the loan move to West Ham, and now with barely featuring for Ipswich Town this year.
Phillips was a vital player for Leeds in previous seasons but his current performance and high wages raise concerns over a potential transfer.
Phillips’ Return Hinges on Promotion
Some reports proposed that Manchester City can sell Phillips in the next summer as part of the rebuilding process, but it heavily depends on the promotion of Leeds.
Phil Hay, a journalist, suggests that the decision lies within Farke, who has also been pivotal in Leeds’ transfer strategies.
Meanwhile, Phillips has not been feeling competitive regarding the playing time off late, perhaps if he went back to the Elland road, he could restart his career.
For the time being, as far as Leeds are concerned, the immediate goal is to prevent relegation from the premier league and make the reunion with Phillips a potential possibility.
