Leeds United might be about to make a big move in the transfer market by signing Tottenham winger Manor Solomon on a permanent deal.
Manor Solomon has been a key player for Leeds United in recent weeks. The 25-year-old has scored four goals and assisted four times in his last nine Championship games.
His performances have helped Leeds push for promotion back to the Premier League.
Tottenham signed Archie Gray from Leeds last summer for £30 million [BBC Sport, 2 July 2024]. But part of the deal included payments spread over three years.
Now, reports say that Leeds could offer Tottenham a discount on those payments in exchange for keeping Solomon permanently.
John Wenham, owner of Lilywhite Rose, believes this deal will be very simple.
Speaking to Tottenham News, he said: “I think this would be one of the easiest permanent deals of all time. Solomon is playing well, and Tottenham will owe Leeds at least two more £10m payments for Gray, I’m sure that was spread over three years. I think around £10m is a fair price. After that, who knows, Tottenham might also have to make a payment to Shakhtar Donetsk.”
Why Leeds Want Solomon Permanently
Solomon has been a key figure in Leeds United’s attack. His ability to score and assist has made him one of the standout players in the squad.
Leeds fans have been impressed with his performances, and keeping him could be a big boost for their promotion hopes.
On the other hand, Tottenham does not seem to have plans for Solomon in their future squad. This makes a permanent transfer to Leeds the best option for both clubs.
