Leeds United’s yesterday match with Sheffield Wednesday ended with a score of 3-0 in favour of Leeds.
However, their victory was in part overshadowed by another injury on the field, this time to defender Pascal Struijk.
Coach Daniel Farke stated prior to the match that, in addition to his other ailments, the Dutchman has a hamstring problem as well.
With him, Leeds hopes that Struijk’s absence will only be between three to four weeks.
Now, they’re starting to worry that the injury entails torn tendons which will keep him sidelined for over six weeks, perhaps even three months.
Farke commented that he is set for another scan next week once the fluid around the injury clears.
Struijk’s absence is a blow for Leeds as they continue their fight for promotion.
Aaronson Knock Adds to Concerns Ahead of Norwich Clash
Nonetheless, everyone was able to witness Farke reducing the injury dilemma to a minimal level, which was his approach with Aaronson too.
Although, Brenden Aaronson did suffer a minor injury during the game which took place against Sheffield Wednesday.
Farke said, “He’s a strong boy” which may imply that Farke does not believe the injury is that serious.
Leeds has returned to the top of the Championship Table, regardless of most missing players for Farke, and that is mainly aided by Ethan Ampadu and Joe Rodon performing excellently well in Struijk’s absence.
Leeds have now set their eyes on the home fixture against Norwich City which will be played on Wednesday with the objective of continuing the promotion race.
