Leeds United will likely miss out on re-signing winger Jaidon Anthony. Burnley have won the battle for his signature.
According to the Daily Mirror, Burnley have accepted a fee for Anthony, who was a key player for Leeds last season, making 38 appearances.
A Double Blow for Leeds
It is a big blow to Leeds, however, as they have also failed in their bid to sign Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri.
By going to Burnley they not only strengthen a rival in the Championship but leave Leeds with even more work needing to be done on their team.
What’s Next for Leeds?
Leeds are still hanging in there, rising and falling with the tide of transfers. The club also has other targets in sight, such as Manuel Benson and Manor Solomon.
Still, with only 20 members of Leeds’ squad taking part in matches that count at present, it is a matter of priority to attract new talent in order for them not to remain competitive in the Championship.
Stay tuned as the transfer window nears its end, and Leeds United look to bounce back with some last-minute deals.
