Leeds United’s owners, 49ers Enterprises, have made some big moves recently, both on and off the pitch.
The latest news reveals that they’ve reached an agreement with Adidas for a new kit deal, keeping them as Leeds’ kit supplier for at least the 2025/26 season.
Alongside this, the 49ers have also shared plans to expand Elland Road, aiming to make it one of the biggest and best stadiums in the country.
New Adidas Kit Deal for Leeds United
Leeds United and Adidas first partnered up in 2020, right after Leeds’ return to the Premier League under Marcelo Bielsa.
The original deal was worth £50 million over five years, or £10 million per season.
That agreement was set to end soon, but now it seems a fresh deal has been agreed, meaning Adidas will remain the club’s kit supplier.
One of the most exciting things about this deal is that Adidas may put Leeds in its ‘Elite Team’ category.
This would mean more exclusive kits, with Leeds potentially getting the famous Adidas Trefoil logo on their third jerseys.
This would be a massive win for the club and its fans, further cementing Leeds as a top team.
Leeds’ partnership with Adidas has been hugely popular, especially after the release of their all-yellow away kit this year.
The kit broke records, with more than 15,000 shirts sold within the first 24 hours.
This shows how much fans love the club’s connection with Adidas, making this new deal even more exciting.
Elland Road Expansion Plans
Off the pitch, the 49ers are planning something just as big.
They’ve announced plans to expand Elland Road, the club’s historic home, from its current capacity of 37,645 seats to around 53,000.
The aim is to make Elland Road one of the largest club stadiums in the country, ranking seventh in size.
Despite this big upgrade, the club is focused on maintaining the stadium’s unique and famous atmosphere.
Leeds United chairman Paraag Marathe shared his thoughts: “We recognise how important Elland Road is to the Leeds United fans and the wider community. The opportunity to refresh a century-old stadium, coupled with the legacy of Leeds United, is unprecedented. We’re excited to welcome thousands more supporters to every game.”
The new design will aim to bring Elland Road in line with UEFA’s Category 4 standards, which would make it one of the top European stadiums.
The project will take place in phases to avoid losing too many seats during construction, ensuring that fans won’t miss out on watching their team play live.
With the new Adidas deal and exciting expansion plans for Elland Road, it’s clear that Leeds United is pushing forward both on and off the field.
The club is showing great ambition, and fans have a lot to look forward to in the coming years. Leeds’ future is looking bright as they continue to grow and develop, both as a team and as a club.
