As the January transfer window fast approaches, Leeds are said to be interested in a move for Nottingham Forest midfielder Lewis O’Brien.
Carlton Palmer, a former player, claims O’Brien would help Leeds with their injury crisis and improve promotion prospects.
O’Brien has been one of the key midfield options for Leeds with both Ilia Gruev and Ethan Ampadu currently out injured, as he continues with his loan with LAFC in the MLS.
Leeds’ Need for Midfield Depth
Despite adding Josuha Guilavogui recently, the season’s intense demands mean more depth could be essential for manager Daniel Farke.
O’Brien, who shone at Huddersfield in the Championship, could be the right fit.
Palmer noted that while he struggled in the Premier League, his Championship experience makes him a solid pick for Leeds’ current needs.
Potential Long-Term Plan for O’Brien
Palmer believes Leeds may be tempted into parting ways with O’Brien this summer, which would also free up funds for them if they gain promotion.
Leeds now need to move fast to sign him with several clubs monitoring the player.
