Leeds United CEO, Angus Kinnear, has shared key updates about the expansion plans for Elland Road.
The 49ers Enterprises have committed millions to the project, with plans to increase capacity to 53,000.
A significant portion will remain for general admission, but more premium seating will be added to fund the upgrades.
Kinnear also touched on season ticket prices, explaining that while costs have risen, they remain in line with inflation.
As for rumors of Red Bull’s involvement, Kinnear reassured fans that a takeover isn’t on the cards.
Stadium Expansion Plans
Kinnear confirmed that Elland Road’s expansion will focus on upgrading the West and North stands.
The club has appointed a dedicated team of experts to finalize designs and plans.
While the exact number of seats for general admission and hospitality hasn’t been finalized, the increase to 53,000 is seen as the most economically viable.
The project aims to balance the need for affordable tickets with the financial necessity of premium seating.
Kinnear pointed out that without premium hospitality packages, such expansions wouldn’t be possible.
Leeds is exploring different tiers of premium seating to accommodate all types of supporters, including those looking for a slight upgrade from regular seats.
Season Ticket Prices and Availability
Touching on ticket prices, Kinnear highlighted that Leeds’ ticket prices have only risen twice in the past decade, remaining broadly in line with inflation.
Leeds is aware of the high demand for season tickets, with a 22,000-strong waiting list.
However, only a handful of tickets become available each season, with more opportunities to open once the stadium expansion is complete.
Red Bull Takeover Rumors
Finally, Kinnear addressed concerns about a potential Red Bull takeover.
He firmly stated that Leeds United would not be rebranded, nor would Red Bull assume ownership.
Instead, Leeds has secured a sponsorship deal with Red Bull that is commercially beneficial without affecting the club’s identity.
Kinnear assured fans that this partnership will help fuel Leeds’ long-term success without compromising its legacy.
