One of Leeds United’s brighter young talents, Luca Thomas, could be on his way out during the January window as well.
Dangerous Thomas, who is in the last year of his contract, has a good record in Leeds’ youth ranks.
He has scored 23 goals from his 32 games for the U18s and continues to shine this season with three goals in his first three games for the U21s.
Despite his strong stats, Leeds United’s depth up front means Thomas is unlikely to break into the first team anytime soon.
More first-team experience is something Thomas will hope for and he is amongst Mateo Joseph, Joel Piroe, Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt in the pecking order.
Thomas Needs a Loan to Further His Career
And with first-team exposure perhaps in the Football League or further down in the National League, a loan move could be ideal for Thomas to experience regular first-team football.
When asked about the lack of strikers he has available to him in his squad, Leeds United coach told us, but it appears first-team minutes at Elland Road will still not be forthcoming this term for Thomas.
Playing well on loan would be crucial for Thomas in order to either earn an extension with the Whites or attract interest from other clubs if Leeds do not offer him a new deal beyond this year.
He might be better suited going out on loan, with the competition for places so high.
The January transfer window will be crucial for Thomas to secure a loan deal that gives him the chance to prove himself at a senior level and possibly save his Leeds career.
