Leeds United’s unbeaten start to the 2024/25 Championship season is over after a 1-0 defeat at Elland Road by Burnley.
However, a first-half goal from Luca Koleosho was enough to give Daniel Farke’s side their first defeat of the season.
A Promising Performance by Manor Solomon
Tottenham Hotspur loanee Manor Solomon had a mixed game despite the defeat.
Unlucky to slip in the build up to Burnley’s goal but a solid performance overall.
That included three big chances created by Solomon, who boasted an 86% pass success rate and a trio of successful dribbles.
He also put in some defensive work, winning six of 7 ground duels and making 2 tackles.
Wilfried Gnonto’s Struggles
However, Wilfried Gnonto had a difficult afternoon. The Italian international did nothing to disguise the fact, missing a huge opportunity when in one on one.
Three shots for Gnonto, but no goals In total, his performance resulted in 16 lost possessions and no chance created for teammates.
In contrast to Solomon’s impressive output, Gnonto appeared slightly less sharp in the final third, which may give Farke something to consider for the next match.
Leeds will hope to bounce back after this setback and refine their attacking options. While Gnonto struggled, Solomon’s bright moments give hope for the upcoming fixtures.
