Brenden Aaronson’s return to Leeds United has been greeted with mixed reactions.
The 23-year-old American midfielder, described as a “wasp in a bottle” by former player Paul Robinson, is back after a loan spell at Union Berlin.
His performances on paper may seem decent but he still needs time to win over both fans and critics.
Aaronson’s Performance Under Scrutiny
Aaronson’s lack of defensive ability and inconsistent play have been highlighted as concerns.
Like many of our foreign recruits, Aaronson showed a lot of potential.
He was an equalizer for Portsmouth, But still regarded as less than top class overall.
Well-trusted club manager Daniel Farke still invites Aaronson onto the field, especially after losing core player Georginio Rutter.
But with signings such as Largie Ramazani, Ao Tanaka and Manor Solomon, Aaronson’s position in the starting lineup is not guaranteed.
Can Aaronson Prove His Worth?
Aaronson might well show signs of improvement in the season to come. With Leeds United aiming for promotion, he needs to step up his game to secure his place and earn back the trust of the Elland Road faithful.
His time spent with Leeds is not finish and he has a chance to prove his critics wrong if he can refine his performance on the field.
